Textile Designers role in manufacturing Fashion fabrics is their key strength today supporting fashion designers in a massive way. The complex role of textile designers in designing innovative fabrics needs to be applauded and celebrated. Very strong focus is on a unified & hybrid role of textile designers in the new world order. The lines between physical & digital world are thinning by the day. Faster digital adoption would evolve faster growth & enhance the operational avenues of future. The textile industry is rapidly moving towards large-scale digitization. The 3Dprinting, weaving, embroidery and knitting industry is currently heavily digitized, and rapidly moving rapidly towards cost-effectiveness and efficiency. The weaving and knitting industry has seen a similar momentum in digitization with computerized Jacquard machines and software’s allowing for the creation of durable and complex fabrics. So has the embroideries with digitization taken new heights for the export and domestic market. India has a huge craft base and hand work still holds an important place in the manufacturing for designer wear which caters to the niche market. The students have the opportunity to explore their own ideas in designing fabrics.
