Placement Assurance

These terms and conditions apply to students who enroll for any of the programs offered by Pearl Academy during the Academic Year 2020-21.

CATEGORY I. PEARL ACADEMY 100% EMPLOYMENT ASSURANCE

If you enroll in and successfully complete Pearl Academy Course for the academic year 2020- 2021 and do not obtain “Qualifying Job” (as defined below) within nine (9) months of successfully completing your Pearl Academy Course (as defined below), then Pearl Academy will offer such students 35% tuition fee waiver for a Post Graduate Program at any of our Pearl Academy International Partner Institutes, as amended from time to time and 51% tuition fee waiver for a Post Graduate Program at any of our Pearl Academy Domestic Partner Institutes, , as amended from time to time, after lapse or completion of 9 months of Pearl Academy Course. This Pearl Academy 100% Employment Assurance is subject to further conditions which are set out below. Pearl Academy can withdraw this assurance at any time from any student who have not already enrolled.

Glossary

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Academics Eligibility Requirements:

• You must enroll and start your PAC in Academic Year 2023-24 and complete PAC within specified duration to obtain PA UG Professional Diploma Program.
• You must not exit Pearl Academy after obtaining UG Advance Diploma Program and take admission to any internationally Bachelor’s award by pursuing courses at University of Derby or Manchester Metropolitan University in UK; or Torrens University in Australia or any other institution, whose enrollment is facilitated by Pearl Academy or otherwise.
• You must not intermit or defer at any point during the PAC.
• You must pass all your PAC assessments at your first attempt in the time set by PA for students to complete those assessments.
• You must have minimum of 85% of attendance each semester in all Pearl Academy Diploma levels;
• You must obtain 70% marks overall as well as in each Pearl Academy Diploma Levels without having any Referrals / Deferrals.
• Formative & Summative Faculty feedback of the Professional Diploma level shall be taken into consideration.
• You should be recommended by the Course Leader / HoD for Employment.
• You must comply with the Main Terms as well as these terms relating to the Pearl Academy 100% Employment Assurance.

Career Services Eligibility Requirements:

• You must be ACTIVE & ELIGIBLE on the Career Services Placement Portal at the commencement of placements by way of approved resume and portfolio, cleared placement quiz, updated profile etc.
• You must have applied for at least 75% of the course-wise available Employment opportunities hosted at the Portal from the Employment commencement time (but within 9 months from the successful course completion).
• You must be consistently and regularly engage with the Career Services team to seek Qualifying Job throughout the Qualifying Period.
• A student shall have 100% participation in the Career Services initiatives, such as employability Bootcamp, Placement Selection and Improvement program , interaction with industry experts, and alumni , workshops, interview preparations, resume writing, coaching & mentoring sessions by faculty and career service representatives or any such initiatives taken from time to time.
• You must be considered to have availed the Pearl Academy 100% Employment Assurance:
  • if you obtain or accept Employment during the Qualifying Period but do not join or commence the Qualifying Job;
  • if you commence the Employment during the Qualifying Period but leave for any reason thereafter;
• A student shall be considered to have availed the placement assurance:
  • if he/she obtain or accept placement during the Qualifying Period but do not join or commence the Qualifying Job;
  • if he/she commences the placement during the Qualifying Period but leaves for any reason thereafter;
  • a student will be deemed to be placed if Pearl Academy offers him an employment which as per Pearl Academy offers them a role in the industry / organization commensurate with their academic credentials

Career Services Debarred Criteria:

• You must be considered as DEBARRED from the Pearl Academy 100% Employment Assurance if you:
  • don’t appear for the scheduled Employment interview.
  • don’t behave professionally during the entire Employment process.
  • Denies for more than 03 profiles in a row offered by Pearl academy Career services department.
  • Misbehaves or is involved in unprofessional conduct with the mentor / officer /client / representative of the organization during the summer training.
  • Misbehaves or is involved in unprofessional conduct with the career service team representative/ Faculty or any other officer of Pearl Academy and the recruiter pre / during or post recruitment process.
  • don’t fulfill or complete the assignments / projects etc. as required by the Employer within the required timelines.
  • makes derogatory statements regarding the Employment organization / company during or after the Employment process.
  • willfully makes any act, statement or gesture in order to not get selected for any Employment opportunity including misconduct or unethical conduct.
  • don’t adhere to and improve upon any feedback given by the Career services team.
• You must not have any fee dues or other dues (Library / IT / security / resource center etc.)
• You being Brand Ambassador & representative of Pearl Academy shall behave with utmost Professionalism during the entire process of employment and after joining.
• At all time, you must provide accurate and correct information without withholding or concealing any material facts related to (but not limited to) contact information, career path, employment status.
• All the communication regarding employment process will only be shared on your official Pearl Academy email address. You are required to check the portal and email regularly and get in touch with their respective SPOC in case of any query.
• You must consistently use your best endeavors to obtain the Qualifying Job opportunity throughout the Qualifying Period.
• Pearl Academy expects that you will be employed in the first organization that you join through the employment services for at least 2 years in the best interest of your professional growth, reliability, and credibility.

WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE?

Without limitation to any other paragraphs stated in this Pearl Academy 100% Employment Assurance Terms and Conditions, you will not be eligible to claim or your claim will be rejected, if:

• You obtain Qualifying Job within nine (9) months of your Completion Date, even if your start date occurs after the nine (9) month period or you start and subsequently leave that employment for any reason;
• Your attendance on the PAC is less as stated under Terms and Conditions;
• You defer or intermit your PAC;
• You do not comply with the Main Terms;
• You do not comply with these Pearl Academy’s 100% Employment Assurance Terms and Conditions;
• You do not pass each of your PAC assessments in your first attempt;
• You do not use your best endeavours, consistently throughout the nine (9) months after your Completion Date, to obtain Qualifying Job;
• You have not consistently engaged with the Pearl Academy Careers Service Team throughout nine (9) months after your Completion Date, to seek Qualifying Job;
• You act in a misleading, dishonest or fraudulent manner including in respect of the information you disclose or withhold from us.

Additional matters

• Pearl Academy 100% Employment Assurance is not to be combined with any other offer of reimbursement, rebate or credit offered by Pearl Academy.
• If there is a conflict between these terms and the Main Terms or any other terms issued by Pearl Academy relevant to the Pearl Academy 100% Employment Assurance, then these terms shall prevail.
• You may not transfer any of your rights under these terms to any other person (including a company or business).
• If there is a delay in Pearl Academy carrying out its obligations to you under these terms caused by circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Pearl Academy, then Pearl Academy shall not be liable to you (or any other person) for the consequences of that delay.
• Pearl Academy’s maximum liability to you for any claim (whether contractual or non-contractual) under these conditions is limited to the maximum of 35% tuition fee waiver for a Post Graduate Program at any of Pearl Academy International Partner Institutes, as amended from time to time and maximum of 51% tuition fee waiver for a Post Graduate Program at any of our Pearl Academy Domestice Partner Institutes, as amended from time to time, assuming you had made a successful claim.
• These terms are governed by Indian law and both Pearl Academy and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Delhi courts for any claim arising under or in connection with these terms and any non-contractual obligation arising out of or in connection with them.
• If this assurance is being prevented, hindered or delayed by a Force Majeure EVENT (as defined below) Pearl Academy’s obligations under this assurance shall forthwith terminated on happening of Force Majeure Event. “Force Majeure Event” shall mean any event due to any cause beyond the reasonable control of Pearl Academy, including, without limitation, recession, sabotage, fire, flood, acts of terrorism, explosion, acts of God, pandemic, civil commotion, strikes or industrial action of any kind, riots, insurrection, war, revolt, and acts and regulations of the Government of India or any of its authorized agencies or of the country of the Institutes.

If Claim is accepted below terms shall be applicable:

• 35% and 51% respectively tuition fee waiver for a Post Graduate Program as stated in the Terms and Conditions shall be applicable only one time. If student fails in successfully completing Post Graduate Program in one attempt, Student has to pay entire fees including tuition fee for continuing its Post Graduate Program.
• Waiver shall not include any Additional Costs. Student shall borne solely any Additional Costs throughout the term of the Post Graduate Program;
• All admissions decisions including entry requirement, course name, curriculum, course offering, fees, commencement dates, availability of course etc. rest solely with Institute (wherever Student opts for admission).
• Admission to Institute (wherever Student opts for admission), is subject to fulfilment of all entry and eligibility requirements on Institute respective website from time to time.
• The lists of Pearl Academy Academic Partner institutions stated above are subject to change at any time without intimation.
• Post Graduate Course must be commenced within 12 months of your Completion Date. This deadline may not be extended for any reason.
• For the avoidance of doubt, the waiver of 100% Tuition Fees may not be set against anything. It may not be exchanged for money, money’s worth or any alternative value, service or other supply.

How do you claim?

If you believe that you have an eligible claim on the Pearl Academy 100% Employment Assurance then you should apply to Career Service Team after 9 months from completion date but before twelve (12) months of your Completion Date.

Pearl Academy reserves the right to require you to complete a standard form which it may prepare for this purpose and provide to you in due course.

• To be considered, your e-mail must include the following information:
  • your enrolment details including your name and the campus you attended and when; your Completion Date (With supporting documents); a concise description of:
    • the attempts you have taken to find Qualifying Job;
    • the contact you have had with Pearl Academy’s Careers Services team.
• When you submit a complete and correct claim, PA will consider it and will aim to give its decision in writing no later than sixty (60) days from the date on which it receives a complete and correct claim. The decision may be delayed if you do not quickly respond to requests for further information.
• In making its decision, Pearl Academy may:
  • ask you for further information; and/or
  • take into account any information and matters which it may reasonably consider to be relevant.
• You will submit your application through the Career Service Team and your application will be endorsed by Head of Department and approved by your Dean.
• Pearl Academy’s management decision will be final and binding on you.

What information Pearl Academy may ask for:

PEARL ACADEMY 100% EMPLOYMENT ASSURANCE

• In considering your claim, PA may ask you to provide evidence of your efforts to secure Qualifying Job and to contact or speak to people that you have dealt with. In order that you are able to provide this material when asked, you are recommended to:
  • keep originals or copies of all letters that you send and receive;
  • retain all e-mails that you send and receive;
  • keep copies of all advertisements that you have responded to; and
  • keep details of any employment agencies that you have approached and the names of any employment consultants that you have dealt with.
• PA may ask the PA Careers Service for information about your contact with them.
