Ashish has been working with the School of Fashion at Pearl Academy for the last eight years, being actively involved in curriculum development. His areas of interest are documentation of traditional Indian costumes and indigenous sustainable practices, along with innovation in the design process and three-dimensional prototyping. His graduating collection was awarded the ‘Best use of Traditional skills’ award and was conferred as the ‘Best academic performer’ of his cohort. He has worked on a sustainability project with Reworks that repurposed army surplus, showcased at Mercedes Benz Berlin Fashion Week (2013) and London Design Week (2014). He was a finalist at the Futures Leaders connect program in 2016 by British Council. Ashish (along with his colleague Dr. Sonika Khar) was one of the four finalists from India to present his garment at the World of Wearable Art Awards, New Zealand (2019). He has presented his research work in the form of oral, written presentations and installation at various conferences, seminars, and summits.
