Pickled Minds

Pickled Minds is a platform to bring and encourage out-of-curriculum engagement for students. The concept of ‘Pickled’ is to make it cross-disciplinary, allowing expanded exposure for students to a variety of disciplines - from product, architecture, communication, film, law, entrepreneurship, theatre, fashion etc. The format can be a lecture, a workshop, interactive and participatory sessions. The session encompasses guest industry speakers, educators, showcase documentaries & relevant films, book readings, masterclasses, or theme based sessions. In past, there have been sessions on interesting topics like Sustainability and more. The objectives of the session are to expand students’ minds and to give them industry exposure through experts.

In past there has been numerous Pickled Minds session conducted by eminent industry experts and educators.

Lecture on Industrial Design was conducted by Chetan Sorab who is an award winning Industrial Designer (NID) & Mechanical Engineer working in automotive and electronic industries for the past 14 years.

Lecture on Curiosity + Architecture was conducted by Sharmila Katre and Abhigyan Neogi. Sharmila Katre comes with 36 years of experience in clothing & textile industry in India. She has previously headed Merchandising and Buying organizations with principals in Europe and Australia, and led PG and UG programme as a senior faculty at National and Private institutions. Abhighyan Neogi on the other hand is an architect and founder of Chrome Design Studio which is a multi-disciplinary practicen that offers contemporary, innovative and functional solutions in the field of Architecture, Interiors, landscape, exhibition and product Design

Lecture on ‘Role of Design in creating inspiring workspaces’ was conducted by Olivia Lee (Director, Product Marketing – AP, Market Strategy & Special Projects), Cheery Wan (Director, Marketing Communications – AP) and Gaurav Khatri (Manager, Business Development & Sales)

Lecture on Product Design was conducted by Niladri Mukherjee. A Product Design Entrepreneur, Niladri has worked with over 200 companies in India and abroad, bringing together a large body of work that spans product, retail and exhibition design, production & Project Management.

Lecture on Architecture was conducted by Neeta Trikha. Neeta, an architect, Vaastu consultant and design educator focuses on resource optimization in the dynamic field of interiors and architecture. She has worked on numerous projects like Commonwealth Games, Dabur Group, Flex industries etc.

Lecture on Interior Design & Styling was conducted by Khem Raj Kala. He is a graduate from NID and multi-disciplinarian with diverse experience in the fields of visual merchandising, exhibitions, interiors and graphics.

Lecture on Interactive Design was conducted by Himanshu Bilani. Himanshu, an engineer from Birla Institute of Technology, started Ardubotics straight after college. Ardubotics has conducted numerous workshops on Arduino and Robotics in colleges and school across India. He also Co-founded Konspire which has been making interactive installations and projects for brands , events and spaces.
